Korn reclaimed their place at the top of Sick New World this past weekend, headlining the Las Vegas festival with the kind of performance that made it easy to remember why bands like them remain the event’s gravitational center.
Since launching in 2023, Sick New World has established itself as the premier destination for nu metal’s foundational acts and the generations they continue to influence. The cancellation of the festival’s 2025 edition only amplified anticipation for its return, and Korn arrived with a set built to meet the moment.
Among the night’s biggest talking points was the live debut of “Reward the Scars,” paired with a rare performance of “Proud,” played for the first time since 2011 and for the first time with Head since 1999. While much of the set drew from the catalog that made Korn one of heavy music’s most enduring festival headliners, moments like those ensured the night offered more than a straightforward retrospective.
