DEATH FROM ABOVE 1979 ARE TAKING PRIVATE LIVES ON THE ROAD THIS FALL
Photo: AABID YOUSSEF Death From Above 1979 are hitting the road this fall, and they're bringing 25 years of noise with them. The Toronto dance-punk duo — Sebastien Grainger and Jesse F. Keeler — have announced The Private Lives Tour, a 28-city North American headline run kicking off October 1st at Ace of Spades in Sacramento. The trek winds through some of the continent's best venues before wrapping December 6th in Pittsburgh. Along the way, the pair will tear through a string of marquee stops: The Belasco in Los Angeles on October 8th, Chicago on November 8th, and Brooklyn's Warsaw on December 4th. The sentimental highlight of the run comes November 27th, when the duo returns to their hometown of Toronto for what's sure to be a raucous night. The tour doubles as a celebration of DFA1979's 25th anniversary — a remarkable stretch for a band built on the unlikely premise that a bassist and a drummer could level a room. They've spent two and a half decades proving that point over and over again. It also serves as the live rollout for Private Lives, the band's fifth studio album arriving this fall and their first since 2021's Is 4 Lovers. Details on the record remain close to the chest for now, but the title alone suggests Grainger and Keeler haven't lost their taste for provocation. General on-sale opens Friday, May 22nd at 10am local time. Full dates below.
