After their mainstage set at Welcome to Rockville this weekend, The Warning sat down with SiriusXM and named three bands carrying rock right now: Turnstile, YUNGBLUD, and Amyl & The Sniffers. The Villarreal sisters belong on that list too.
Here’s the case for all four.
Turnstile walked away from the 68th Grammy Awards in February with two wins — Best Rock Album for Never Enough and Best Metal Performance for “Birds” — beating out Deftones, Linkin Park, Ghost, and Sleep Token in the process. The Baltimore band has spent the last two years becoming the most talked-about act in rock, full stop.
YUNGBLUD is currently in the middle of the Idols World Tour, selling out arenas across the US and Europe. He took home Best Rock Performance at the same Grammy ceremony for “Changes,” his tribute to Ozzy Osbourne. The Warning, for what it’s worth, are his support act for the North American leg.
Amyl & The Sniffers spent the back half of 2025 opening for AC/DC across Australia and sold out London’s Alexandra Palace in October. Their Cartoon Darkness album earned a Grammy nomination for Best Rock Performance and landed them a Red Rocks debut this June.
The Warning just played the Apex Stage at Rockville, dropped their new single “Kerosene” in March, and head into the summer supporting YUNGBLUD at venues from the Greek Theatre to Radio City Music Hall. Three sisters from Monterrey who started with a Metallica cover in their living room. They know exactly who their peers are — they just forgot to include themselves.
