Simultaneously, Lindsay’s father learned that his lung cancer had worsened. In January of 2020, she moved home to Ipswich to spend time with the family and begin work on her new album. Three months later became nine, thanks to the pandemic. You can hear her newfound boldness as she wails the son’s central refrain, giving herself over to emotion: “I can’t get enough of you \/ Where did you come from?” Despite the grief, personal and collective on Lindsay’s mind while making\u003cspan\u003e \u003c\/span\u003e\u003ci\u003eBarbara\u003c\/i\u003e, she often pauses to embrace joy. “Jenny”, is a simple acoustic guitar ode to meeting Smith.
