By 1988, Glenn Danzig had already taken on a legendary run with horror-punks Misfits, and then a gothic-hardcore journey with Samhain. His first eponymous release as Danzig brought him and his new band towards an enigmatically fist-raising, hip-swerving and downright sexy brand of blues-metal — carnal bangers like “Twist of Cain” and “Soul on Fire” highlighting their leader’s pheromonal power, as well as the ferocity of budding guitar hero John Christ. Sporting Danzig’s legacy-cementing anti-censorship anthem “Mother,” and officially back on wax for the first time since the Eighties, it doesn’t get more essential than this.

The first official vinyl repressing from American Recordings of Danzig's debut album since its initial release in 1988. Tracks include “Mother” and “Twist of Cain.” Pressed on standard weight vinyl in gatefold jacket with printed inner sleeve.
