SLAYER 'GOD HATES US ALL' LP

After taking a slightly nu-grooved detour near the end of the Nineties, Slayer’s first album of the 21st Century reemphasized the thrash pioneers’ strengths: menacing guitar trills and freakishly untamed solos, devastating double-kick galloping and Tom Araya’s forever ungodly howl. Rather than reexplore Slayer’s Satanic panic-inducing origins, the lyrics take a more-grounded but nevertheless ruthless look at religion, terrorism and the mindset of a killer. Driven by the Grammy-nominated and gut-punching “Disciple,” God Hates Us All is one of Slayer’s most furiously memorable releases.
