STRAPPING YOUNG LAD 'CITY' 2LP (Silver Vinyl)

VINYL RELEASE DATE: 7/16/2021
VARIANT: LIMITED EDITION SILVER VINYL DOUBLE LP

After initially starting Strapping Young Lad as a solo project, mastermind vocalist-guitarist Devin Townsend recruited an all-star lineup — drummer Gene Hoglan, guitarist Jed Simon and bassist Byron Stroud — for the project’s earth-scorching sophomore LP. Words like “crushing” and “explosive” fail to properly express the sheer force of tracks like “All Hail the New Flesh” and “Detox,” which fuse the mechanized beat of industrial with the skronkier side of pulverizing extreme-metal, creating a hulking cyborg of sound that's at once brutal and oddly catchy.
