The Offspring’s eighth album, Rise and Fall, Rage and Grace, was a major course correction for Cali punk vets, bringing back the gritty power of their classic Nineties albums after a couple records that relied a bit too much on sleek production and class-clown humor. “You’re Gonna Go Far Kid” was a revitalizing hit, “Hammerhead” was a welcomed wallop of punk anger, “Trust in You” a proper jolt of thrashy speed, and “Kristy, Are You Doing Okay?” is one of their best ballads.
