NETHERWILDS UNLEASH "THE FALL" — THE PEASANT METAL REVOLUTION IS HERE
Photo Credit: Emily Thuro The party's over. Netherwilds have released "The Fall," the fourth single from their debut album 'Peasant Rising,' out October 9 via King Volume Records, and it lands like a fist on a lord's banquet table. Dark, imposing and thick with medieval atmosphere, the track captures the exact moment resignation gives way to resistance. The mud is still everywhere, the jokes still surface, but the fear of the crown is gone — and across the villages, a dangerous idea is spreading: kings and castles are not as permanent as they appear. Worm Chewer himself issued a warning alongside the release: "Every kingdom must fall. Whispered on the lips of my fellow peasants, stamped into the muck of my village — this truth carries us forward for the day when justice finally arrives. Grab a pitchfork my friend, The Fall is coming." "The Fall" caps a rollout that's been building toward revolution one single at a time. June's "Return the Goat" introduced the world to Worm Chewer's misery through a tale of desperate survival, misplaced heroism and one very important goat — the viral clip that turned a TikTok character into a band. July's "Siege Proof Hovel," complete with a shredding mandolin solo from Hole Dweller, taught our hero the hard lesson that no single peasant can overthrow tyranny alone. And last month's "Helm Yeah" gave the downtrodden a night off, trading toil for tankards in an ale-soaked ode to forgetting your troubles. With "The Fall," the hangover clears and the pitchforks come out. Worm Chewer first crawled out of the mud in a series of viral transmissions filmed among the stone ruins of the Irish countryside — caked in dirt, teeth in ruin, muttering about hunger, labor and the men who own the land. What looked at first like absurdist medieval roleplay struck a nerve with millions, its portrait of feudal survival landing uncomfortably close to home. Netherwilds now rides as a full war band: Worm Chewer on vocals and bouzouki, joined by Loamspeaker and Two Spoons on guitars, Viv on bass and Boh on drums. Produced and mixed by Jesse Turnbull (Dear-God, Doflame), 'Peasant Rising' sprawls across 22 tracks of blackened metal, medieval folk, doom and cinematic interludes, following Worm Chewer through mud-soaked villages, dungeons, monsters and drunken escapades as his personal struggle becomes tangled up in a rebellion brewing beyond the castle walls. Nine "Scroll" interludes stitch the saga together, and the record closes — fittingly — with "Return the Goat," bringing the story back to where it all began. And for those ready to join the uprising properly, Metal Edge has secured its own piece of the plunder: an exclusive 'Peasant Rising' LP on Stolen Riches Vinyl, limited to just 100 copies, hitting the streets October 9. Consider it treasure liberated from the king's coffers and pressed for the people — and once these 100 are claimed, they're gone for good. Grab yours, grab a pitchfork, and be ready when the walls come down. NETHERWILDS 'PEASANT RISING' LP (Metal Edge Exclusive – Limited to 100, Stolen Riches Vinyl) — STREET DATE: 10/9/2026
